The rapid development of extreme sports in the past decade has also swept along some daring senior citizens.

68-year-old Wang Ruifu takes his roller skates with him whenever he goes out. The exhiliration more than compensates for whatever other people might think.

Wang Ruifu said, "I bought a pair of roller skates in 2003. At the beginning, I was afraid of being seen doing it since I wasn’t young. So I practiced secretly at places where no one could see me. From time to time, my daughter also scolded me, saying I was being eccentric roller skating at such an age."

Wang says roller skating gives him a feeling of youth and freedom, as though he returned to his happy childhood.

It’s human nature to want to go beyond the limits, to make dreams come true. For many, extreme sports are a good way to get there.
