Sanya Ladies Open 2012 Pro-Am kicks off at Yalong Bay Golf Club

The Sanya Ladies Open 2012 Pro-Am event teed off on Wednesday at Yalong Bay Golf Club. The event provides a good chance for newer professionals to kick-start their careers and for the pros an opportunity to reach the next level.

The defending Sanya Ladies Open champion, and recent winner of the Spanish and French Opens, Frances Bondad, and CLPGA Chinese team members Lin Xiyu and Yang Hongmei, along with hundreds of members of Yalong Bay Golf Club attended the tee-off ceremony.

Zhou Guoming, the Vice Secretary of the Sanya Municipal Government was at the ceremony and extended the city’s warmest welcome to the hundreds of professional lady golfers eager to swing their clubs in the competitive yet friendly atmosphere.  

The 2012 tournament will be held from Nov.2^nd to 4^th, with 114 players from 27 countries including the UK, USA, Australia, Russia, Norway, Switzerland, Finland, Italy, Thailand, India, Philippines and China. Prize money for the three day tournament has been raised to Euro 250,000.

Sanya Ladies Open is authorized by the China Golf Association, Ladies European Tour and Ladies Asian Golf Tour and approved and supported by the National Sports Bureau of China, the Government of Sanya City, Sanya Yalong Bay Golf Club and sponsors like New China Trust, Mangrove Resort Hotel, apparels by Pro Simon etc.
