On 24th October, the Sanya Oceanic and Fishery Bureau freed more than 130,000 Grouper seedlings at the fishing reefs to the east of Wuzhizhou Island. At the same time, the artificial fishing reef project at Wuzhizhou Island was approved by experts.

The Sanya government invested RMB8 million in the construction of the marine ranching demonstration area at Wuzhizhou Island this year. 818 reefs and 8000-cube artificial fishing reefs will be put in the fishing reefs area to the east of Wuzhizhou Island.

Wuzhizhou Island is located within the Haitang Bay Tourist Resort in Sanya. The marine ranching demonstration area in Wuzhizhou Island is a key project in Sanya, and includes a west fishing reefs area and an east fishing reefs area.

According to Sanya’s marine planning, Sanya plans to build 8 marine ranches in Wuzhizhou Island, Hongtang Bay, West Island, and Dadonghai area in the next 10 years with an investment of 265 million yuan.
