Sanya to impose traffic restriction on ‘yellow label cars’

Sanya will impose traffic control on the “yellow label cars”, vehicles that fail to meet the European No.1 standard for exhaust emissions, according to the Sanya Municipal Pubic Security Bureau Traffic Police Detachment yesterday.
In order to improve the air quality in Sanya traffic departments have mapped out the restriction areas for the “yellow label cars”. These heavy-polluting vehicles will be banned from four main areas in Sanya.
The details of the four restriction areas are as follows:
1. East area: Yalong Bay Scenic Spot
2. Urban area: (a) west from the Shuiye Building crossing of Yuya Road; (b) west from the gas station crossing of the west bank of Yingbin Road; (c) west from the No.1 Middle School crossing of Jinjiling Raod; (d) south from the train station crossing of the Hedong Road; (e) south from the Oriental Hotel crossing of the Jiefang Road; (f) Sanya Bay Road.
3. West area: Xincheng Road
4. South area: Luhuitou Development Zone
2. As well as this, three kinds of non-local vehicles will not be allowed to register at the Sanya Vehicle Administration Office. These will be vehicles that fail to meet national level-3 standard for exhaust emissions, vans and trucks that have run for 5 years or longer, and passenger buses.
