Recently, the construction plan for a temporary helicopter landing field in Haikou was approved by experts from the CAAC Central South Regional Administration as a new breakthrough for the low-altitude tourism industry in Hainan.

As of now, the preparatory construction work for the Haikou temporary helicopter landing field has officially started, which is expected to soon be used for the landing and taking off of light aircraft.

The Haikou temporary helicopter landing field is one of main construction projects of the overall Hainan “aviation, science & technology, sports and cultural tourism" project.

With a total investment of 4.5 billion yuan, the Hainan “aviation, science & technology, sports and cultural tourism" project covers five areas; the north, south, east, west and center of Hainan island, with Haikou being in the center.

The Hainan provincial government plans to invest 2.2 billion yuan in the Haikou base center. The main construction projects include the Haikou temporary helicopter landing field, a flight training school, an aviation museum, an air vehicle 4S shop, aviation-themed hotels and other facilities, which will build a complete aviation industry chain.
