A total of 349,500 tourists flocked to Sanya during this year’s National Day holiday, bringing total tourism revenue of RMB1.258 billion to the city.
 
According to the latest reports released by China Tourism Academy and Ctrip.com, a leading travel portal in China, Sanya has topped the list of the most popular individual tour destinations during the 2012 National Day holiday.
 
During the holiday period, individual and holiday tourists were the main categories of tourists arriving in the city. Statistics show that individual tourists accounted for 65% of the total number visiting.
 
According to statistics, the average hotel occupancy rate reached 65.31%, and the average daily fee per person is 1102.43 yuan. The average length of tourists’ stay in Sanya was 3.81 days.
 
The toll-free policy, which has been implemented during the Golden Week holidays, has brought on a massive increase in self-driven tours in Sanya. Statistics have shown that 29, 787 self-driven vehicles visited the city, an increase of 63% over the same period of last year.
 
The Sanya Phoenix International Airport received a total of 1,739 flights, with the total volume of passengers reaching 250,820.
 
As well as this, retail sales across the city reached 175 million yuan. The Sanya Duty Free Shop received 99,048 visitors and recorded sales of up to 75.23 million yuan.
