iPad ordering system officially introduced at Sanya seafood restaurants

During the Golden Week holidays tourists in Sanya will see the local seafood restaurants replace their printed menus with iPads. The new iPad ordering system will be used instead of normal menus as of the 30th September, with the aim of avoiding overcharging.
Under the new system customers will be able to browse the digital menu which will include pictures of the dishes, and place their own orders on the iPads. Their orders will then be printed out and sent directly to the kitchen by a waitress.
‘The new ordering system is easier to monitor’, said Wan, adding that consumers will also be able to see what they have ordered along with the price of each item.
Besides this, the new system will be directly linked up to relevant governmental departments, which will allow officials to monitor sales information.
