In order to protect the island’s ecology and maintain a good travel order, Wuzhizhou Island in Sanya is limiting the number of tourists in the scenic spot. For the sustainable development, the number of tourists will be no more than 8,000 per day.

Situated at the north side of Haitang Bay, Wuzhizhou Island enjoys the transparent sea water with underwater visibility of up to 27 meters. The island also has more than 2,000 types of plants and many precious tree species such as the plant kingdom’s "giant panda", the dragon’s blood tree.

“We have attached great importance of eco protection as we known the island tourism development is dependent on the natural scenery”, said the Sale Director of Wuzhizhou Island. Every year, the resort will set up restriction on the daily number of tourists to island.

Meanwhile, the resort is finding out ways to protect the coral reefs and marine life on the island. As part of one such of measure, hotels on the island are required to limit the use of chemical products dumped into the water.
