Results from the 2012 China Green GDP Index Report released in Beijing recently listed Sanya as 2nd among the 300 provinces and municipalities in the Green GDP Index.

 

The report was released by the World Economy Research Center at the Beijing Technology and Business University's School of Economics.

The top ten cities as ranked by the index are Shenzhen, Sanya, Haikou, Xiamen, Guangzhou, Suihua, Beijing, Huizhou, Dandong and Wenzhou.

 

300 cities participated in the making of the index. The report shows that the average Green GDP index in 273 cities in 2012 is 0.3019, an increase of 46.4% over that of 2011.

 

The report showed that resources, environment and economy are the three main factors that affect the city’s green economic development level.
