Sanya plans to open up low-altitude airspace
Sanya is planning to open up low-altitude airspace in an effort to help build the city into a top international tourism resort.
Drafted by Sanya tourism officials, the plan has already passed the evaluation of the expert panel and is waiting for endorsement by the provincial authorities.
According to the plan, local government will cooperate with Meiya Air Company, the first professional tourist airline with water aircraft and amphibian aircraft, to set up an international seaplane center in Sanya, which integrates the functions of aviation and tourism with Sanya characteristics.
It is part of the 10-year low-altitude airspace tourism development plan for the city.
It is also the first plan in China to promote the general aviation industry's development and reform the airspace management system, as well as increase the efficiency of the allocation and utilization of airspace resources.
