Recently, a special plan on the development of Sanya’s cruise tourism laid out by the Sanya Tourism Development Commission has been approved by experts to push the cruise tourism concept in the next few years.

Under the plan, the ‘Marine Silk Road’ route, carried out with a designed voyage period of 10 to 20 days, will enable tourists to realize their dream of rediscovering the unique glamour and splendid history of oceanic culture.

Cruise tourism has been one of the soaring demands for China’s leisure industry. As an international tourist city, Sanya has exceptional resources to develop the cruise tourism industry. Cruise tourism has gradually become a major feature and new growth engine of Sanya tourism.

Experts also pointed out that Sanya has an urgent need to introduce more international cruise liner companies to develop routes to the city and a “Multi-stops Tour” tourism policy to broaden yacht tourism routes by working with major domestic cities like Shanghai, Xiamen and Tianjin.
