Sanya Loop Expressway opened for traffic in September
.The Sanya Loop Expressway is officially open for traffic this month after the tunnel lighting construction and traffic sign installation on the road was completed, according to Sanya Transport Bureau.
The project started construction in 2008 and it is one of the major national passageways planned by the Ministry of Transport in the 11th Five-year Plan period connecting Heilongjiang Tongjiang City. It is 30.46 kilometers long, constructed with four lanes in two directions.
As one of the key projects to improve the island road construction, Sanya Loop Expressway will allow vehicles to get quick access to major tourist spots including Yalong Bay, Nanshan Tourism Culture Zone, Tianyahaijiao as well as Phoenix Airport.
For example, it will save 20 minutes from the east ring expressway to west ring expressway after using the loop expressway, and it will save half an hour from Yalong Bay directly to the Sanya Phoenix International Airport.
Meanwhile, the project has 6 entrances to downtown Sanya and Sanya’s scenic spots, and 3 exits to Sanya Railway Station, Luobi Cave (Sanya College), and Sanya Phoenix International Airport
