A new regime compulsory parking charge is set to be introduced in Sanya from October, 2012, according to relevant departments.
 
According to the scheme, major public places within the city planning arrangement, including Jiefang Road, Hexi Road and Xinfeng Street are under the scales of urban parking lots.
  
The introduction of parking charges is one of a larger transport management plan to ease parking difficulties and upgrade the city’s parking order.
 
The relevant department is working on the specific rate-setting for public parking plans.
