Sanya relevant department recently issued new regulations to crack down on illegal B&B Inns citywide.

There are 739 hotels in Sanya, amongst which 461 are found operating without fire safety certificates.

Most of these hotels are illegally using residential buildings as hostels with inadequate fire alarms and other unsafe conditions

According to the new regulation, homeowners renting out apartments as hotel rooms are required to apply for the fire safety certificates before September 30.

In addition, the new regulation also makes it clear that owners who want to convert their residential location into hostels must have the approval of all property owners.
