Nearly 800 fishing boats in Sanya were back to sail in the South China Sea as a seasonal fishing ban was lifted on 1st August, local maritime authorities said.

This is the 14th summer fishing ban which lasted from 16th May to 1st August. According to statistics, a total of 772 fishing vessels in Sanya were included in this year’s moratorium.

The summer fishing ban covers regions including the South China Sea area as well as the Beibu Gulf. Apart from single-layer gill nets and fishing tackle, other types of fishing operations are prohibited.
