Sanya government released a document recently announcing that the city has decided to offer 300 million yuan by the end of this year in a bid to stimulate the development of major industries in the city.
 
Under the plan, the government will offer financial support to eight industries including aviation, the headquartered economy, key tourism projects, financial institutions, the animation industry, golfing, hotels and travel agents as well as the cruise sector.
 
Compared with last year, the plan has changed in some ways. To attract more domestic and international airline companies to open new flight routes to/from Sanya, the local government this year has set up special funds to increase the financial subsidies for landing fees of flights to and from Sanya Phoenix Airport. 
 
As for the tourism industry, more local travel agents are being encouraged to explore high-end tourist source markets to enhance the service quality of the industry.
 
The plan is aimed at maintaining the momentum and competitive edge Sanya has been building as an international destination.
