Recently, a series of hand-drawn comics about traveling in Sanya went viral online thanks to their fun and vivid images and witty scripts.

The author Chen Cheng, a freelance painter and writer from Nanjing, went traveling in Sanya with 6 friends in March this year.

Unlike ordinary travel guides, the hand-drawn comics named “Wondering Sanya” were designed in the form of photos and comics detailing vividly the things that happened during the journey.

The comics have received more than 500,000 clicks and nearly 3,000 replies since they were put on the internet on 30th March.

Budget travelling has become a trend amongst young people, and more and more tourists investigate others’ experiences before setting out, said industrial experts.

According to Chen Cheng, some domestic publishers have contacted her offering to publish her hand-drawn traveling comics.
