On 12th July, the illegal tourist site in Sanya, Qifu Bay, was demolished by the Sanya Comprehensive Law Enforcement Bureau and the Tianya Town government.

Sanya Qifu Bay came under the spotlight after an Anhui tourist made a complaint. The Hai Jiao Yi Hao Scenic Spot of Qifu Bay was a privately-built illegal tourist site operating and erected without the permission of the Sanya Planning Department.

The illegal buildings included two hanging bridges, a seaside walkway, two prefabricated houses, three wooden houses and a log cabin.

The Hainan Tourism Committee, the Sanya Municipal Party Committee and the Sanya government showed great concern about the situation after the Qifu Bay was exposed as being illegal on 2nd July.

On 5th July, relevant departments in Sanya issued a notice of punishment, requiring Hai Jiao Yi Hao to suspend business and demolish all the illegal buildings in 3 days. Otherwise, they would be dismantled and removed in accordance with the law.
