amphibious aircraft

signing ceremony

The first aviation company to boast an amphibious aircraft in China, Meiya Air Co.,Ltd, has signed an agreement to buy five Viking Airlines DHC-6 aircraft recently. It is predicted that the five aircraft will be transported to China in the summer of 2014 and then be put in use in Sanya.

Meiya Air aims to build an aircraft fleet that includes twenty DHC-6 aircraft in ten years. The purchased five DHC-6s are just the first batch of aircraft introduced to Sanya, which represents a promising beginning of the cooperation between Viking Airlines and Meiya Air.

“We are glad to have signed the agreement for DHC-6 aircraft with Meiya Air. It is our cooperator’s efforts that have made this agreement possible, “said Davis Curtis, CEO of Viking Airlines, “DHC-6’s introduction to China will lay the foundation of Viking Airlines’ status in the Asian market.”
