The duty-free shops section in Sanya will be renovated into the biggest underground tourist and business complex in the city, a project which has been made possible with an investment of 10 billion RMB. According to Wow More Company’s plan, the renovation project will start in August and be completed before Spring Festival 2013.

Luhuitou Square is situated on the opposite side of duty-free shops in Sanya and the section has always been the bottleneck of the traffic in Sanya. Therefore, the Sanya city government plans to utilize the underground space of Luhuitou Square to ease traffic in the area.

The goal of the renovation is to transform Luhuitou Square into a public leisure space of international quality as well as being a great tourism and business venue.

After the completion of the project, the underground walkway will be connected with the duty-free shops and the original appearance of Luhuitou Square will be recreated.
