Sanya Phoenix Airport canceled 161 flights and delayed 43 flights because of the fifth tropical storm of the year, Talim, reported Nanhai News on 19th June.
 
The Phoenix Airport implemented an emergency plan for flight delays and made a comprehensive arrangement to keep the airport organized. Information of flight delays was broadcast via TV, radio, newspaper and Internet to inform the passengers of the canceled and delayed flights.
 
"We are sending more staff here to explain the reason to the passengers and offer them food, hot water, tea and lodging information,” said one staff member of the airport, “We will try our best to reduce inconvenience to passengers.
 
In the meantime, groups of passengers were transferred to Meilan Airport of Haikou to take flights there. There were about 4800 passengers transferred taking their flights by 22:00 on 18th June.
