Tropical storm delays flights in Sanya, ro-ro ship services cancelled
The typhoon blue early warning was issued twice by Hainan Weather Service on 17th June. There were 25 flights delayed, including one Hong Kong flight heading for Sanya, reported China News Service.
Sanya Phoenix Airport implemented an emergency plan for flight delays to let the weather settle down. Information of flight delays and services were broadcast continuously, which kept the airport organised.
Qiongzhou Strait Administration of Shipping Traffic ordered that the ro-ro ships which could not endure level 8 gale stop shipping operations on 18th June. At present, there are 20 ro-ro ships in operation between Haikou port and Haian port of Guangdong Province.
