On 11th June, the first stop of Sanya’s summer tourism promotional campaign kicked off in Chengdu. This year’s promotion conference themed as “Sanya, wedding sanctuary and honeymoon paradise” attracted hundreds of local travel agencies.

Since 2007, Sanya has taken its summer tourism brand to many mainland cities and gained broad recognition. This year, Sanya is positioning itself as being a “Honeymoon Paradise”, taking aim at the fast-growing honeymoon tourism market.

According to the deputy mayor of Sanya Xu Zhenling, Sanya is a livable city, which is warm in winter and cool in summer, with unique tropical coastal tourism resources. Benefiting from the cool ocean wind as well as 68% forest coverage, the temperatures in summer never exceed 35 centigrade. April to September is the golden time for family visits, honeymoons and weddings, not only because of the beautiful scenery but also the favorable prices.

"Represented by Chengdu, the southwest market is one of the most important tourist generating areas for Sanya” said Xu. In addition to from vacationing, taking wedding photos and holding weddings in Sanya has recently become a new fashion. With the holding of an International Wedding Festival and the weddings of several celebrities, Sanya has become the holy land of weddings for Chinese couples.

Sanya has its own full-fledged marketing and management team to promote the “Destination Wedding” market so far. Many well-known wedding planning companies have opened subsidies in Sanya. There are nearly 300 wedding photography firms in Sanya, which can provide high-quality services to couples.
