To meet the increased market demand during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday, Huangshan Airport, together with Tianjin Airlines, opened a new Tianjin-Huangshan-Haikou route on September 19.

An EMB190 plane with 105 seats will take off every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The route starts from Tianjin at 10:00am and arrives at Haikou at 3:00pm, with a 45-minute rest in Huangshan at 11:45am. The flight will depart from Haikou at 3:45pm and reach Tianjin at 9:00pm. As a special offer for the two holidays, Tianjin Airline is offering 75 percent off to groups and up to 60 percent off to individuals for their first flight.

Tianjin has long been a major market for tourism in Huangshan city. In 2012, Huangshan city received 369,000 tourists from Tianjin. The opening of this new route will definitely further promote the already booming tourism market in both cities.

The air route from Huangshan city to Hainan has been shut down for almost 15 years, making it hard for tourists to go between the two. This new route illustrates the determination of the Huangshan government and related departments to develop the market in Hainan and the international islands close to Hainan. Hainan is expected to become a link between Huangshan and the Southeast Asia market, and between Huangshan and the Southwest China market.
