Sanya air quality
Sanya sees 100% of days with good or fair air quality in 2011.
   
The Sanya Municipal Bureau of Land and Resources released the 2011 Report on the environmental situation in Sanya on 4th June. According to the report, the quality of air and water remained stable compared to 2010.

The report shows that the quality of air on all days in 2011 was recorded as "good" or "fair". During this period, the air quality index for more than 98.1% of the days, 358 days, reached grade I national air quality standard.

In 2011, drinking water sources in the city met the Grade II national surface water quality standard. The water quality remained good and stable on the whole.

In terms of noise pollution, the level of noise pollution under the monitoring program has improved slightly compared with that of 2010.

The total area of forestation in Sanya was 71 hectares and the forest coverage rate in 2011 stood at 68%, which was as same as that of last year. The total number of natural reserves in the city reached 8 in 2011, including a national nature reserve and a provincial nature reserve.
