A Sanya high school teacher committed suicide on 24th March, 2012 and allegedly left a note claiming “I am almost burnt out by the pressure that the school puts on me”.
Huang Fen, 24, was the teacher in charge of Class 7 of Senior Grade One at a high school in Sanya.
Her family were shocked when informed by the school authority that Huang Fen had killed herself in the restroom of her dormitory.
The family firmly believed that the suicide was connected with the pressure in the school. And Huang Fen’s sister said her sibling was always threatened by her.
They demanded compensation of RMB 800,000 after the school authority paid RMB 90,000 for funeral expenses. The principal of the school confirmed the suicide of the teacher, but refused to pay the compensation required.
