A tourist who rode an unlicensed motorboat was severely injured in his lower body after he lost his balance and was hit with the boat rear on a rough sea in Sanya Bay on 3rd May.
 
The tourist surnamed Su comes from Xi’an. According to the doctor, Su suffers from spinal cord injury and lower limb hemiplegia. Su has paid RMB 70,000 for his treatment. However, the owner of the motorboat has not showed up yet.
 
According to Su’s father, they saw a motorboat on the beach while they were taking walks at about 6 p.m. on 3rd May. Su put on a life jacket and started his motorboat trip after negotiating with the owner who set the price at RMB 150.
 
As a green hand, Su was so excited that he drove the boat too fast. When a rough sea hit the boat, the falling Su collided fiercely onto the rebounding boat and Su lost consciousness of his lower limbs on the spot.
 
Su was sent to Sanya 425 Hospital after he was rescued off the water. Doctors said Su suffers from spinal cord injury along with hemiplegia. Police found that the motor boat that Su drove is unlicensed and illegal.
 
Up to now, the owner has not shown up yet.
