According to the conference on promoting Meishan Red Tourism Project held on 9th May, Sanya will invest RMB 1.5 billion in constructing a Meishan Red Tourism Zone. It is the first red tourism project as well as the key project in Sanya in 2012.
 
The Meishan Red Tourism Zone will be located in the south of the Meishan Cemetery of Revolutionary Martyrs of Yacheng Town. The whole project will cover an area of 469 hectares, among which 374 hectares of land are used for construction.

The construction project includes Meishan Revolutionary Museum, Red Monument Square, Red Exhibition Hall, Dong Fang Hong Theater, resort hotels and a yacht terminal. A total investment of RMB 1.5 billion is expected to be put into the whole project.
 
The Meishan Red Tourism Zone will play an important role in Sanya’s red tourism. Moreover, it also means a lot in boosting Meishan’s economy and will contribute to social development, according to the conference.
