The budget airline Jetstar Asia announced on 7th May that it would be operating flights between Haikou and Perth, via Singapore, starting on 9th May, 2012.

It will be the first regular route from Haikou to Australia in Hainan province. Four flights a week will fully meet the demands of holidaymakers.

The executive of the Tourism West Australia Stephanie Buckland said the new link would help bring the increasingly rich Chinese tourists to WA.

Jetstar Asia acting chief executive Paul Daff said it would be meaningful to connect these two tourist destinations with budget flights.

As the capital city of West Australia, Perth is a rising tourist destination in Australia. It will become a new opportunity for WA tourists to go vacationing in the “East of Hawaii”.
