Sanya will build the city's first earthquake emergency shelter at Mangrove Park (formerly known as Binhe Park), according to the Sanya Press Office.

It will be built into a level-Ⅱearthquake emergency shelter according to the national standard, and is scheduled to be put into use this year.

At present, Sanya is pushing forward the construction of a seismographic station in the eastern part of Sanya in a bid to perfect the seismologic surveillance network and improve earthquake predicting ability.
