Expansion project of Haikou trash-burning power plant starts construction
The expansion project of the Haikou trash-burning power plant has begun construction in Hainan’s Chengmai county, Hainan Daily reports.
After completion, the trash-burning power plant project is expected to deal with 2,400 tons of household trash each day, around 800,000 tons each year.
According to reports, the project will introduce the most advanced garbage incineration systems and technologies in the world, with its emission targets surpassing the EU2000 standard.
With a total investment of 476 million yuan made by China Power New Energy Development Company Limited, the first phase project of the trash-burning power plant in Haikou was put into operation in July 2011.
The new expansion project was launched due to overloaded operation of the first phase project, which deals with only 1,200 tons of trash each day.
