Taxi driver in Sanya loses job for refusing to take passengers
Recently, a taxi driver in Sanya was fired by his company after he allegedly refused to take passengers during the Spring Festival holiday this year.
The taxi driver Mr. Tang with Sanya Tianxing Passenger Transport Co Ltd. was exposed for refusing to take passengers during the Spring Festival holiday, which greatly damaged the city's reputation among tourists.
The company refused to extend the contract with the driver after the previous contract expired.
According to related rules, Sanya residents and tourists can file complaints to local transportation authorities against taxi drivers' malicious refusals.
Taxi drivers who, without justification, refuse to take passengers or deliberately take longer routes to increase fares could face fines from hundreds to thousands of yuan, or even have their licenses suspended, according to the Sanya Traffic Department.
