16 cities including Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Haikou, Wuhan and Hangzhou announced the formation of a China Exhibition Cities Alliance during the 9th China International Exhibition Cultural Festival, which kicked off in Wuhan on 18th August.

According to reports, the China Exhibition Cities Alliance aims to serve as a platform for exchanges and cross-regional cooperation between exhibition cities. The alliance is expected to drive the country’s exhibition industry.

As an emerging exhibition city, Haikou has enjoyed rapid growth in its exhibition sector in recent years.

The number of exhibitions held in Haikou has grown at more than 30 percent year-on-year, 10 % higher than the national average of 20%.
