According to Sanya Maritime Bureau on 15th April, Sanya homeport sees 112 cruises visits with 76355 passengers in the first quarter of 2012. The number outstrips that of 2011 when the number of visited cruises and passengers were 90 and 68,504 respectively.
 
With the development of Sanya’s cruises industry, Sanya Maritime Bureau strengthens the supervision on cruise safety, striving to create a good tourism image of Sanya. Many effective measures have been taken to ensure passengers’ safety as well.
 
Meanwhile, Sanya Maritime Bureau reinforces the marine weather forecasting via AIS and CCTV. As the main member of Sanya Maritime Research and Rescue Center, they also contribute to the construction of hardware facilities for maritime research and rescue.
