In order to standardize the tourism market and stabilize hotel rates, authorities of Sanya and Qionghai launched management on hotel room prices during the Baoao and the May Day holiday.

The hotel rates during the Boao and May Day in two cities are all based on the recorded hotel rates in 2011.

According to the Sanya Price Bureau, the standard room prices of 215 hotels in Sanya have been approved and put on records so far. The hotel rates less than 1000 Yuan take up 69.4% while 41.8% of them are under 500 Yuan. Hotel rates range from 1000Yuan to 3000 Yuan take up 26.1%. The average hotel rates in Sanya this year is almost the same as it was in 2011.

Meanwhile, 47 hotels in Qionghai have been also approved and put on records. Hotel rates under 500 Yuan take up 64.7%, but the average price is up 10% year on year.
