Sanya was ranked 1st on the list of Chinas most popular destinations during Qingming Festival 2012, reports hinews.com.

 

Qingming Festival, known as Tomb-sweeping Day in China, fell on 2nd to 4th April this year.

 

According to data released by the Sanya Tourist Association, the average hotel reservation rate in Sanya exceeded 80% during the 3-day holiday. Reserve rate among hotels in Yalong Bay area hit a record high at 90%.

 

Meanwhile, scenic sports in Sanya saw tourists peak in the past couple days. Nanshan Tourism Cultural Zone received over 12,000 tourists on 2nd and 3rd April respectively, with 900 self-driving cars. More than 8,000 travelers flooded into Yalong Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park for the spring scenery.

 

Taking the advantage of a tropical climate, Sanya has topped Xiamen and Lijiang as the first choice for spring travel, according to the latest survey conducted by China's leading travel agent Ctrip.com.
