China business jet show to ride with Hainan Rendezvous
Various business and general aviation shows are springing up in China as ABACE itself returns again after a four-year break. In two weeks’ time the annual Hainan Rendezvous takes place in the Sanya Island holiday resort, at the southern tip of Hainan Island. China’s largest yacht show is also emerging as a major regional gathering for the business jet industry. Located at Sanya Phoenix International Airport, which has been operated by the Hainan Airlines Group since 2002, the business jet exhibition is an invitation-only component of the yacht show.
This year’s gathering also features a gallery of fine artworks by famous international and domestic artists. Magda Danysz, director of the Galerie Magda Danysz in Paris and 18 Gallery in Shanghai is curating the exhibition, which features works by local artists Liu Dao, Maleonn, Yang Yongliang and a Picasso.
In September the Chinese International Business Aviation Show (CIBAS) takes place in Beijing. The first edition of the show took place here at Shanghai’s Hongqaio Airport last April and drew more than 100 exhibitors from all over the world, as well as some 5,000 visitors. This time there will also be conference sessions organized in conjunction with the Civil Aviation Resource Net of China.
Other shows promoting regional business and general aviation are the China General Aviation Investing Summit, which will take place in Shanghai in May. September may well see another GA forum organized by the China Aircraft Owners and Pilots’ Association.
The Zhuhai Airshow in November takes place in the heart of a business aviation hub, and in 2010 played host to China’s first GA summit. Meanwhile, Asian Aerospace, set to take place in March next year, has run the Asian Business Aviation conference three times now and traditionally attracts several bizjets to its dedicated static display at the Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre.
