Chartered flights from South Korea’s Busan to Haikou will be increased from twice a week to nine times a week from October, according to reports.

The move comes amid predictions that the number of tourists from South Korea will recover this year, and growth will resume.

In the second quarter of the year, Hainan received around 6,378 tourists from South Korea, a dramatic increase of 268.7% compared to the same period last year.

The number of tourists from South Korea increased for the first time since chartered flights from Busan to Haikou were suspended in 2008.

According to reports, Hainan will also increase tourism chartered flights from other tourist resources countries, such as Russia and European countries.
