Sanya police arrests a Taiwanese man with fake travel permit
A Taiwanese man accused of using a fake travel permit and was arrested by police last week.
To maintain exit and entry management, local relevant authorities have launched a regular check on the temporary accommodation registration by foreigners on March 8.
The suspect, surnamed Zhou, registered for temporary accommodations in a hotel in Sanya Bay as a Hong Kong resident, but was caught using a false travel permit after his personal information was found unusual by police.
Under the police’s investigation the man confessed to his wrongdoing and his real identity was later confirmed as a Taiwanese resident.
According to the law, the Taiwanese man was sentenced to administrative detention for 6 days and imposed a fine of 500 yuan.
