Firecrackers force flight from Sanya to Beijing to land at Nanning airport
A flight from Sanya to Beijing was forced to land at Nanning Airport as a passenger was found carrying a string of firecrackers in her hand bag on 6th Mar, according to the reporters of Xinjing News.
How the fire crackers got through the security screening is still under investigation, said the employees of Sanya Phoenix International Airport.
A netizen said 2 women accompanied by a boy were taken away by police after the flight landed on the Nanning Airport. Another netizen said the flight was delayed for more than 3 hours due to firecrackers found on the plane.
According to the passenger, the firecrackers had been left there by her nephew and had been forgotten until they searched the bag for something to eat. They handed the firecrackers to the flight attendants immediately for safety’s sake.
Passengers raised the question on China's Weibo service (similar to Twitter) how the firecrackers made it through security screening in Sanya.
Sanya Fenghuang Airport workers claimed they will inform the public as long as the investigation result comes out.
