Hainan to popularize new-energy cars & monitor PM2.5
Hainan has built 12,230 civilized ecological villages, accounting for 52% of the total villages, according to the Hainan Environment Protection Conference held on 27th February.
Meanwhile, Hainan will popularize liquefied natural gas (LNG) and new energy cars, and set up an air quality index monitor and an information issue system for PM2.5, ozone and carbon monoxide in Haikou and Sanya.
Hainan has invested RMB4.3 billion to set up 21 garbage disposal and 28 urban wastewater disposal projects since it decided to build itself into an ecological province in 1999.
In addition, the Changjiang Nuclear Power Station is scheduled to be put into use in August, 2014.
