Despite the ban on physical punishment in government schools, a student was badly kicked by a teacher for not following his orders to keep silent in the classroom in Sanya’s Nanya Middle School.

According to the student’s recall, the teacher grabbed his neck, pushed him against the wall, kicking his back strongly after finding him not following his orders.

Investigation by a doctor shows that the student has several head wounds and a lot of internal injuries including kidney bleeding and a concussion.

Concerned about their child’s physical injuries and emotional distress, the boy’s angry parents came to school for a reasonable explanation.

The principal maintained that the teacher did not beat their child severely. He said the teacher immediately took the student to the hospital and watched over him a few days. Besides, he also insisted that the parents used it as an excuse to seek more compensation.

"We refuse to accept the 5,000 yuan compensation and the school’s attitude toward this matter is really irresponsible.”

At present, the student's parents, the teacher and the school are now engaged in resolving the matter through negotiation.
