Sanya is seeking to build Tianya Town into a regional hub in the west with 6 key projects put in place in 2012.
 
To realize its full potential, 6 key projects have been ongoing smoothly with a total investment of 1.05 billion yuan. The projects cover education, road expansion construction as well as high-end hotel resort programs.

The town is also attempting to set up a regional tourism commission to provide leadership in order to achieve this ambitious goal.

Tianya Town, as one of the key towns to promote rural tourism development, will help upgrade of local industry and promote the regional economic development.
