A tourist from Beijing exploring picturesque Sanya Butterfly Valley got lost. He was found safe after an extensive search for more than 20 hours.
The man surnamed Lv called for help when he realized he was lost in the mountains around 1:30 pm, Wednesday. And he was found safe at 10 am, Thursday.
Yalong Bay Fire Brigade, together with Navy officers and a power company, managed to locate the man after he sent a picture showing a high-tension power tower.
Some 80 rescue volunteers kept searching for the tourist during the night with the help of flashlights in rugged bush-covered hills.
"Tourists should stay within the scenic area as they can get lost easily in the wild part which hasn’t opened to the public,” said Shi Huaiwei, the captain of Yalong Bay Fire Brigade.
