Self-service boarding gate installed in Haikou Meilan Airport

The ability to board a plane without needing an agent to check your passport and ticket has come to Haikou.

Passengers leaving Haikou for Nanchang have had the opportunity to experience the new boarding process since the self-service boarding gate made its debut at Haikou Meilan Airport on July 3rd.

When self-boarding, passengers swipe their boarding passes at a kiosk reader at the gate. After successfully reading the passenger's printed boarding pass, the turnstile automatically unlocks, allowing the passenger to board the plane.

The self-service boarding technology, which has been widely applied in overseas countries, is still in the testing stage in the domestic aviation industry.

Self-service boarding not only simplifies the boarding process but also make it faster for passengers to board the aircraft.
