The family of a 14-year-old boy who died from an electric shock in a KTV bar in Sanya on 16th Jan, has received RMB600,000 as compensation, reports hinews.cn.
At 15:00 on 16th Jan, the boy, who was a student of Sanya Shiyan Middle School, went to Vayana KTV in Mingzhou Plaza with his classmate. However, he was stunned by an electric shock when he was singing in the private room. He died in the hospital half an hour after doctors’ efforts failed.
After the accident, the KTV bar has been suspended from operation and a preliminary investigation shows the electricity leakage on the microphone could be the cause for the boy’s death.
