The Sanya Loop Expressway will finally be open to traffic on 18th January, 2012 after 3 years’ construction.
 
The project starts from Damao Village of Jiyang County, passing through Lizhigou Farmland to connect with the east and west ring expressways to form a transport circle. Its total length is 30.46 kilometers, constructed with four lanes in two directions.
 
Its completion will greatly relieve present traffic tension and vehicles from the city center can directly access major scenic spots like Yalong Bay, Tianyahaijiao Resort and Nanshan Culture Tourism Zone.
 
For example, it will save 50 minutes to use the west ring expressway, and it will save half an hour from Yalong Bay directly to the Sanya Phoenix International Airport.
 
In addition, it will add 6 entrances to downtown Sanya and Sanya’s scenic spots, and 3 exits to Sanya Railway Station, Luobi Cave (Sanya College), and Sanya Phoenix International Airport.
