On Dec.22, Sanya Maritime Authority has inspected tourist ships for night tours at several ports to deal with waterway traffic violations.
On Sanya Phoenix Island International Cruise Terminal, 2 ships were found with unqualified staffs and 200 tourists were persuaded to suspend their voyage activities.
The move aims to reduce inland waterway traffic accidents.
The inspection period started from Dec. 20, 2011 and will last till Jan. 19, 2012. Authority urges all the ships to meet the required regulations of staff and sailors’ qualifications and the necessary permits for night tours.
