With a total investment of 570 million yuan, the Sanya Environmental Protection Department recently announced that the city plans to build its trash-burning power plant, reports hinews.cn.

The plant will adopt the BOT ((build-operate-transfer) operation, which is designed to deal with a maximum of 700 tons of household waste per day, and the waste heat can generate 700 kwh of electricity daily.

At present, the city has produced no less than 50 tons of kitchen waste daily. The plant will use advanced technologies and equipment to provide a green way to process 100 tons of dispose kitchen waste per day.

With a highly advantaged incineration system, the trash-burning power plant will help the government to gradually reduce landfills across the city and put more focus on comprehensive disposal of household trash.
