Sanya is closely monitoring fireworks production and safety management for the upcoming Spring Festival.

Under the current regulations, any enterprises planning to host fireworks lighting celebrations are required to submit the proposal for approval by Sanya Police Bureau.

To celebrate the 2012 Chinese New Year, the new regulations permit city government to organize fireworks displays in downtown center and scenic spots from Jan.22 to Jan. 25.

The city also bans the presence of fireworks warehouses set up in the downtown center for safety concerns.

Besides, vendors wishing to sell fireworks in the city must obtain safety qualification licenses from Sanya Industry and Commerce Administration. Those who violate the regulations will be fined up to 100,000 yuan.
